PT Begins

So had a follow up with my primary doctor to check how my knee is healing. Today marks two weeks since I dislocated it. He ordered I start physical therapy to strengthen the knee and also to keep the knee braced for some time. The biggest thing I'm looking forward to is sleeping brace free! Hopefully I will be totally brace free by June...

Bucky the Brace

By the time it had been a week in a half Buddy was more a hindrance then a help... The swelling had gone down and no matter how tight I made Buddy the minute I stood up he was around my ankle! So hello Bucky! I still have to keep my knee straight until its cleared by my doctor next week. Buddy is still my sleeping friend. More so so I don't curl my leg in my sleep.

Charlie is Two

I can't believe this little lady is two. I love you baby Bee! You're definitely my baby. Must be the name. All we Shannon's just rock.

You loved your baby doll that Auntie Hoho and I got you. Grandma Janet made you an awesome cake with marshmallows on it. (you ate all the mallows and then stole them off momma's slice of cake)

can't wait to see what this year has in store for you.

Easter with the Kiddos

So we came down last week for Sissy's birthday we talked about doing a Easter and birthday party for Charlotte's second birthday. We hid baskets for each of the kiddos and had an Easter egg hunt. We dyed eggs and had a BBQ.

They had so much fun. It was nice to have the kids at my parents again. Dad's face just lit up as he helped Aiden find his eggs. The kiddos loved seeing papa Pete and grandma Janet. We got sissy a gas card to maverick to help with gas expenses. It was a great way to spend the day with my family.

Buddy the Brace

So, I've always had pretty loose joints. My ankles and knees pop all the time. Well yesterday while I was getting the kiddos stuff out for nap my knee cap popped. This wasn't the usual pop I've heard while playing with the kids or crawling around on my knees. It was so loud Hobo heard it in the other room. Afterwards my knee ached and it hurt to put weight on it. I just figured it needed a moment to get back adjusted and I'd be okay. Last night it ached still. This morning I woke up to a swollen knee.
So we made a call to my doctor only to find out that he was out of town until Monday. So we started playing phone tag with the other doctors in the Valley. With no luck we had to go to urgent care after six. Two in a half hours later and a set of x-rays they told me what Hoho and I feared. I had dislocated my knee. Key word ''had'', because of all the fluid and swelling my knee cap was still a little off. So meet Buddy the brace. He is my new friend for the next two to three weeks.

Sissy's Birthday

So Sissy turned 29 this week.(we are five months apart) Following tradition we went to the Desert Star Playhouse and saw Provo Cop. I love spending quality time with my sister. This year Hoho came along. With everything that has gone on in the last year with Sissy Hoho and I felt it important to get her a medallion with the kiddos birthstones.
I wanted something memorable that would help remind her of her children and the love and sacrifice she does for them on a daily basis. So when we found the mother medallion in the add for Deseret Book Hoho searched the Salt Lake Valley. I'm so extremely grateful to sissy and the love I get from her and the kiddos. She truly has been a blessing in my life. Happy Birthday Sissy!

Sick of Being Sick....

I have never been as sick as I've been in the last three months of this new year. The second of January I was in the clinic with a nasty ear and sinus infection. Then in February I went back in because my sinus was still draining and was put on round two of antibiotics for a sinus infection. So when I went into the clinic yet a gain with the same symptoms for a third time he put me on a stronger medication. It not only killed the infection but all my good bacteria as well.
Now for those who know me, know that I've never had a regular menstrual cycle. Well I started my march cycle the day they put me on the medication for the sinus infection. I figured 4-6 days and I'd be my normal self.(note to self, when has my period EVER been normal?) So when it continued on three days after I'd been on the fourteen days medication we made an appointment with the doctor. Last time this happened in the Fall of 2012 it took nine weeks before I got it to stop.
So my doctor called for blood work to be done to check my hormone levels. He also put me on an eleven day regiment of metapregesterone. This was suppose to reset my menstrual cycle. The second I went in to have my doctor discuss my blood work. My female hormones were all low. In fact they are as low some lower than a woman who is going through menopause. The doctor wanted to send me to an endocrinologist but I was still bleeding. So he set up an appointment with a local obgyn for the ninth. I've thought I'd begun to slow down a few times in the last week only to bleed heavily later in the day. By Friday I was just trying to stay ahead of the cramps that I didn't realize just how bad my coughing had been. Heidi felt yucky and we figured she had a sinus infection. So to the clinic we headed at nine o'clock at night. I insisted I was fine but my sister knew otherwise.
Doctor's office twice in a week? Why not, the result? Lung infection. Albuterol treatment and z-pak. The weekend was spent attached to the Albuterol treatment machine and in the bathroom. I visit the gynecologist in two days and I'm still bleeding. Hoping that the gynecologist has some answers and I can simply start getting better.
