Homecoming
Fight Song
We are the wildcats, scratching, snarling
We're going to win this game.
Upward and onward fighting wildcats,
With pride and honor, on to fame.
And will never quit till we have won,
So purple and white will reign, 'cause
We will growl, and snarl, and show how
We rate; for we are...
WEBER STATE, WEBER STATE, GREAT! GREAT! GREAT!
WEBER STATE, WEBER STATE, GREAT! GREAT! GREAT!
WEBER STATE, WEBER STATE, GREAT! GREAT! GREAT!
The game was Eastern Washington University and the end score was 26 to 32. Not bad Wildcats!

Week Four
I can't believe we're already at week four! I'm finally getting into a routine. I finished up with my last day of PT on Wednesday. The PT (physical therapist) gave me a list of things to do at home on my own. I can finally sit through a lecture without getting fidgety or sick. My left upper thigh is still a bit tight but its doing lots better. I've been taking the meds for the ulcer and its clearing up as well.
My classes are all going swell. We've read one novel in my Philosophy of Lit class and we're half way through another. We had our first Spanish test and we've had to critiques for photo seminar. I finally feel like I know what I want to do with that project! My poetry class is going well. My professor used one of my pieces as an example in our lecture this week. I'll have to post it some time soon!

Tuesday Tension
So I may be a creative writing major but my minor is photography. This semester I'm taking a photo seminar class that literally makes me sick to my stomach most days. Our first critique I left feeling like a total idiot. I hate speaking in front of groups and definitely didn't get out what I meant to say. My punishment for my lack of social skills during crit? Well street photography.
I absolutely hate being a creep. I love people watching but taking pictures of random strangers without permission rubs me the wrong way. I wanted some options though to show for Wednesday during critique. So I loaded up my camera and headed to Salt lake via front runner. I met Dad for lunch then headed to City Creek to do some creeping...
One problem I simply couldn't do it. So after a 30 minute conversation with Sissy I finally figured out what I want to do with my stinking project... Not street photography. So a bit frazzled and ticked off with myself I began to wonder City Creek. It was nice to just have me time even if my project was looming in my mind the whole 4 hours....

Four day Stomach ache....
So Saturday afternoon when I got home from the fair I noticed my stomach hurt a bit. I had just finished a month long regiment of 500 ml of Naproxen twice a day for my pinched nerve and had started using Tylenol. I was worried it might be a bug seeing how they guys next store had all had a nasty flu bug. So by Monday I bought Pepto and lactaid to help with any dairy I dared eat. Tuesday afternoon I fell asleep squeezing a pillow to my aching stomach. So I decided it was time to see what was really going on in that stomach of mine...
After my classes today I made a visit to the clinic. Between my nasty virus I got over the summer and my pinched Sciatic nerve I felt a bit ridiculous going again for the 4 time in less then a month. I know I have a sensitive stomach and my fear was that the anti-inflammatory for my pinched nerve had given me an ulcer.
Surprise, surprise! This chickadee knows her body pretty dang well. The Doctor told me to stay clear of all anti-inflammatories for 6-8 weeks and to start taking the stuff above asap. New goal... To get through a whole lecture pain free (between my pinched nerve and ulcer) My hope is still by week 4....

Hails and Paigie
For those who know me well know that crying is difficult for me. When I was younger struggling with the after affects of abuse the only thing I could truly control was my feelings. I held in crying for most of my teenage years. Its just in the last two years or so that I've allowed myself to cry. I made it to the end of the lesson before I broke down. After the closing prayer Paigie instantly consoled me. During Sunday School Hails and I had a heart to heart and by sacrament meeting I realized that I had some roomies that not only supported me but loved me.
After lunch and a nice Sunday nap we went to Buas pond and took some pictures and goofed off! They really made the day run smoother. I'm thankful for roomies that are fun to be with and are supportive to me in my time of need.

State Fair...
My roomie Paigie and I decided our weekend needed some fun. So we made our way to the state fair for carni weirdness and loads of fun! It was fun to see all the booths and watch the shows. We even went into the freak show booth. (its just not a fair experience without seeing two headed animals)
It was fun to take a break from school and just enjoy the atmosphere of the fair. I'm glad I have roomies who I can go on adventures with!

Last day at Union Station
So Wednesday of last week my advisor informed me that there wasn't enough work to keep me for the school year. I've enjoyed my work at Union Station this Summer and the new friendships as well. Today felt so real as I wondered doing little chores that usually kept me busy, knowing it was my last time doing them. I enjoyed learning and gaining experience. I hope my next work experience is equally as enjoyable!

Ah my Sciatica...
About 8 weeks ago I had a little incident at work. The office at my work is basically carpeted cement. I was sorting collector cards for our car museum on the floor for 2 hours. After finishing my project I instantly thought, "dang that's going to hurt in the morning." That next morning there was a sharp pain all the way down my left side from the hip joint to my knee cap. Figuring I had merely tweaked a muscle I took some ibuprofen and went on my merry way.
By that Monday I was in so much pain that it hurt to get up and walk from my bed, the toilet and anything that involved squatting. Being discouraged I called Dr. Mom who told me it was either my back or hip. To keep taking the Ibuprofen and if it didn't improve to go to the clinic. Another week went by and my strict regiment of ibuprofen didn't seem to be cutting it. I was miserable and it was obviously more then a tweaked muscle. After lots of coxing and threatening from two of my roomies I decided to go to the clinic.
After an exam she ruled it as Sciatic Nerve pain. Putting me on prescription strength Naproxen with strict rules to take it easy and relax this week. I was to come home the next week to see if the swelling had gone down. If not then Physical Therapy was a must.
To make a long story short I started PT on the 27 of August. Upon the examination by the PT she told me that the muscle that goes across the back of buttocks was tensing up and pinching my sciatic nerve. Thus sending pain down my left side. My back was extremely tight as well. She started me with simple stretches after the exam. Telling me to do them daily. The goal to make it through a full lecture without wanting to grimace in pain. Week one ten minutes before fidgeting begins... week two 30 minutes... Fingers crossed to pain free lecture by week four...
