Answer to Prayers

So since I graduated over eight weeks ago its been go go go. I've wanted to do a session for quite sometime but seemed to always hit a road block. I've finally hit my overload button. I've applied to who knows how many jobs and only had two-three interviews. So I decided to do something I should have done a long time ago. Talk with my Heavenly Father.
I had my mom drop me off at the Salt Lake Temple on her way to work Friday morning at 7 am and I headed in to do a session. I love sitting in the temple its so quiet and peaceful. I had just barely missed the previous session and had to wait in the chapel for the 8 am session. It was a great time to think with no interruptions. As I sat there I realized I hadn't done a session in over 7 months because Ogden temple was under construction and when I went with my singles ward it was always baptisms.
The great thing about the temple is there is always someone to help you. the best reward anyways is being to sit in the celestial room and feel our Father in Heaven's presence and love.  I left feeling less stressed and knowing that everything would be alright. So lets jump to today. I attend a singles ward with my brothers in my family's neighborhood. Today just so happens to be the fifth Sunday. Which means priesthood and relief society is combined. Guess what the lesson was on? Employment. I've learned some insightful things and hope this will aid me in my job search. Lesson learned: HF is always listening and willing to help if we come to him. Just realize its not always on our same time table.

All the Pretty Little Ponies....

All the Pretty little Ponies
By:Kenny Loggins
Hush a bye
Don't you cry
Go to sleep my little baby
When you wake
You shall have
All the pretty little ponies

In your bed
Momma said
Baby's riding off to dreamland
One by one
They've begun
Dance and prance for little baby
Blacks and bays, dapples and greys
Running in the night
When you wake
You shall have
All the pretty little ponies

Can you see the little ponies
Dance before your eyes
All the pretty little ponies
Will be there when you arise

Can you see the little ponies
Shining before your eyes
All the pretty little ponies
Gonna be there when you arise

Hush a bye
Don't you cry
Go to sleep my little baby
When you wake
You shall have
All the pretty little ponies
All the pretty little ponies
All the pretty little ponies

H's Slumber Party

H snoozing away
Guess who finally earned her sleepover? Oh my she was so excited. Granted it would have been sooner if she hadn't had a horrible rash. I had surprises for her left and right. We started with painting her nails.(fingers and toes) She took a bath that night so we could do princess hair in the morning. She was so excited it took a while for her to get to sleep. I woke up and snapped this picture of her this morning.
Princess hair like Auntie promised!
After a yummy breakfast of pancakes I did her princess hair and gave her her new tee shirt dress that grandma Janet and I made her weeks ago. She was ecstatic! She put it on and we headed to the park.
All jazzed up! Princess H
I let her have a pair of my dangle earrings and she wore her special necklace we made out of pony beads the night before. (I had found letter beads that spelled out her name, she loved it) We played and danced and had a blast. definitely something We will be doing again!

Family is more than Genetic Code

Sissy and I Spring 2011
Katie and I met in our sophomore year at Highland and have been friends for the past thirteen years. After we graduated high school we didn't see each other much. In the summer of 2008 she texted me and informed me that she was pregnant and unwed. she told me she understood if I didn't want to be her friend anymore. Shocked by her last sentence I quickly replied, "Congrats when are you due?" Since that moment we haven't gone a week without texting or talking to one another via phone or Facebook.
Hermione 6.5 yrs, Katie, Abby 2.5 yrs
Lots has happened in the last five years and I have gained four beautiful nieces and one handsome nephew. I'm so proud of  her and the wonderful mother she is to her kiddos. It's not easy to be a single mother to four kids under the age of six in a half. For the first four years of her life as a mother she was a stay at home mom. But ten months ago that all changed. My best friend's life was turned upside down. suddenly she was left to support four young children and had zero income. I watched her as she struggled to get on her feet doing the best I could to help while working on my final year of my bachelors. I wanted so much to hug her and tell her everything would be alright. I made sure every time I came to Salt Lake to spend time with Sissy and the kids. I got things for the kiddos that they needed and spent many of my trips home with Sissy and the kiddos.
Hermione 6.5, Aiden 4.5,
Abbygail 2.5, and Charlotte 12 mo.
Now Sissy's kids have always called me Auntie. It's been that way since Aiden Jay was born. Sissy is an only child and so we adopted one another as kin long ago. Since I've moved back form Ogden I've been able to spend tons of time with Sissy and the kiddos. This has made my love for her and the kids grow by ten fold. There isn't anything I wouldn't do for those kiddos or Sissy. I'm so proud of you and all that you've been doing to make your life and the kiddos better. I'm rooting for you always! Love ya.

Kiddos

How can you not love a sleeping baby?
So I've been watching the kiddos at least once a week and enjoy my time with them. Unfortunately we don't own a playpen so getting little Bee to take a nap is a nightmare sometimes. It usually results in me holding her in a soft blanket and rocking her to sleep. I'm hoping sissy can find her playpen to leave here at auntie's.
The best thing is they love coming here and don't even fuss when Katie leaves. They instantly feel at home and my parents are now known as Papa Pete and Grandma Janet.

Busy Week

So I have had something literally every day this week. No wonder today I almost fell asleep on the couch! Monday I had sissy's kiddos from 12:30 to 9:30 pm, Tuesday was roomie reunion, Wednesday I had an interview downtown, Thursday Amanda and I took Lulu and Lotty to the park and had a picnic, Friday I helped sissy clean and move Lotty's bed downstairs into the girls room, Saturday was the family reunion and then Hoho and I went father's day shopping and then today is D-day! So I thought I'd share some fun pics from this week!

Roomie Reunion

Paigy, Shany, and Hails
So there are many things I miss now I'm back in Salt Lake. One of those are my roomies. Hails recently moved to Salt Lake and lives like five minutes away from me but Paigy I hadn't seen since we graduated! So we planned a roomie reunion.  We met at Hails' salon downtown and went out to lunch and spent the afternoon hanging out while Paigy got a perm.
It was nice to be out of the house and see two of my favorite people. We ended the day by going out to dinner at Olive Garden. It was fun to joke around and felt like old times in Ogden. I hope to get all together soon!

Day with Auntie...

Sissy had a busy week and has had a rough time getting a reliable sitter. So I took the kiddos since my house is real close to her work. We had so much fun! As Miss Lotty napped Hermione, Aiden, Abby and I played in the living room with the little tikes blocks and in the back yard on the deck! I promised the kiddos when Lotty woke up we could go to the park!
So this was a great idea until I realized we didn't have a stroller and I had 3 small children and a six year old... Miss Lotty doesn't walk yet so I carried her and had to keep corralling the little kids (Aiden and Abby) to the side of the street. Unfortunately my parents neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks. after lathering them up in sunscreen I gave them free reign of the playground. They had a great time and I enjoyed time with them.
After dinner it was bath time and jammies. Abby was out in a matter of 20 minutes into a movie and my momma rocked Lotty to sleep. Hermione and Aiden enjoyed watching Mickey until mom showed up around 9:30. I love being to help sissy with the kiddos and hope to have an Auntie play day again soon!
